We have all heard about Irene Logan. We all know who she is, no need to bore anyone with all that. You know, Liberian born turned Ghanaian, lyrically blessed, winner of first edition of the Charterhouse show: "Stars of The Future", blah blah blah..... You now know who I am referring to if you didn't initially.
The multi-million question is: WHERE IS IRENE LOGAN?
After 3 years of working as a duo with Jane Awindor (now using the stage name Efya), they both split up on independent projects.
Irene Logan and Jane Awindor are a duo representing a new age in Ghanaian music. They are contemporary rhythm and blues and pop singers, with large influences from Western genres.
Their debut video featured the hit single, Heat it up, features Nana Tuffour aka NeezBuck (University of Pennsylvania) while their first album also featured Amandzeba Nat Brew, Blu3 (Uganda) and Wutah.
Some of the songs from the duo include Odo kai, Baby, Ding dong, Girl power, Don't wanna be lonely, Don't give up, Rivers and Always.
After going solo, we seem to be hearing a lot more about Efya. There are rumours about an album in the works. And we have heard some solos and featured appearances from her.
What about Irene Logan? Last we heard, she was in the Lynx Entertainment camp. With the new golden girl being Eazzy, I am starting to wonder where Irene Logan disappeared. After a couple of hit singles we haven't heard anything in relation to her.
Some rumor has it that she is now involved in humanitarian projects. But we can all agree, that for someone like her, who has been practising music her whole life, there is no way she will abandon it just at a whim.
Did Lynx Entertainment...... I shudder to even think it.... Kill Irene Logan's career?
